We at ChronoCopia Publishing are proud to announce our next book: A Medieval Meal – the Art of Cookery in 14th Century Scandinavia by Daniel Serra & Hanna Tunberg.
This time they will take a deep dive into the food and food culture of medieval Scandinavia. Just like in their earlier book An Early Meal, this book will consist of two parts. A background part in which they use written sources and archaeology to explore the food of both rich and poor and how it was cooked, eaten and served.
The cookbook is based upon the first known Danish collection of recipes dating back as far as the late 13th century. The recipe ranges from simple dishes such as a simple sauce for travellers to a nobleman’s sauce that can be used to pickle a roasted deer.
The book is planned to be published late 2026, but keep an eye on this space for updates, words from the authors and information on how to pre-order the book.
